Eagle Eye Promposal Contest: Flying Straight into Prom

Jayde LaRosa and Kohlton Fink’s promposal poster.

Seniors Jayde LaRosa and Kohlton Fink have been dating since December, and Jayde let Kohlton know she wanted a promposal. Despite him being on the edge about it, the promposal made Jayde extremely happy.

For their second and final prom together, they knew they wanted to spend it together. After a long flight that lasted the whole day, Kohlton surprised Jayde at the airport with a sign saying “The Trip Doesn’t Have to End, Next Stop PROM?”. Kohlton was also holding flowers and decorated the poster with pictures of them from prom last year.

Promposer: Kohlton Fink

Eagle Eye: Describe in detail how you asked them.

KF: “She was flying into State College airport so I put a poster together that said “The Trip Doesn’t Have to End, Next Stop PROM?” her mom, step-dad, and I had her convinced we weren’t going to be there. I rode to the airport with them to surprise her. When she walked in her face lit up and she said yes.”

EE: Why did you choose this person to ask?

KF: “We have been dating and she wanted a promposal.”

EE: Where did you get the inspiration for the idea?

KF: “I knew Jayde had wanted a promposal. At first, I wasn’t about it, but she was on her way home from her vacation and it was the perfect time. It made her really happy.”

EE: What relationship do you have with this person?

KF: “She’s my girlfriend.”

Promposee: Jayde LaRosa

Eagle Eye: Give your side of the story. Why do you think they asked you?

JL: “Kohlton and I have been dating, so I assumed we were going to prom. I didn’t know he was planning on promposing though.”

EE: Describe in detail how you were asked and how you felt.

JL: “I had just gotten off of my final flight after flying all day and my mom, step-dad, and Kohlton lied to me all day and when I walked into the airport Kohlton held the sign that said “The trip doesn’t have to end. next stop, Prom?” How could I say no? It was adorable.”

EE: Did you have any suspicions that you were going to be asked by them?

JL: “I didn’t think he was going to. This was a complete shock. I told I always wanted one but I assumed he forgot.”

EE: Why should you win the contest?

JL: “I think we should win the contest because this promposal was unique and Kohlton put a lot of thought into where and how he was going to ask me. Even if we don’t win the promposal was a fun experience.”
