Seniors MaKenna LaRosa and Zach McCready have been dating since September, and since they have been dating for a while, Zach knew he wanted to prompose. With the help of McKenna’s sister and her love of fishing, Zach was able to make the sweet and funny promposal happen.

Combining her love for fishing, McCready decided to add fishing puns into his sign by saying “Sorry 4 being a pain in the bass but I’m hooked on you so take the bait and lets tackle prom”. LaRosa knew he was going to ask her, but she wasn’t sure when would actually ask her.

ZM: “I went out to the garage and had her sister bring her out. I walked out holding the poster that asked her to go to the prom with me. The sign said, “Sorry 4 being a pain in the bass but I’m hooked on you so take the bait & lets tackle prom”.

EE: Why did you choose this person to ask?

ZM: “Because we are dating.”

EE: Where did you get the inspiration for the idea?

ZM: “Online and her love for fishing.”

EE: What relationship do you have with this person?

ZM: “She’s my girlfriend.”

ML: “Because he is my boyfriend and we wanted to go together.”

ML: “He held up the sign and asked if I would go to prom with him. I said yes and I was super happy and excited.”

EE: Did you have any suspicions that you were going to be asked by them?

ML: “Yes, he kept dropping hints about doing this but never told me when he would do it.”

EE: Why should you win the contest?

ML: “I think we should win because I think it was sweet and very creative and he put a lot of thought into it.”
