Athlete of the Week: Alexa Patton

Sport: Volleyball

Accomplishment: Lexi is averaging 7 service points per game and 5 kills per game.

Lexi had 15 kills and nine service points in their first win versus Clearfield on September 12th.

Grade: 12

1.    How did you first get involved in this sport? 

“The first time I played was my 10th grade year. I wanted to try a new sport for once and the moment I stepped on the court, I knew I’d love it.”

2.    What other sport(s) do you play?

“Track. I’m a sprinter.”

3.    Favorite professional sports team?

“Pittsburgh Steelers.”

4.    Favorite professional athlete?

“Troy Polamalu.”

5.    Who is your hero? Why?

“My Grandma is my hero. She has been my number one supporter in everything I’ve done in sports and academics.”

6.    Favorite band/musician?

“None. I like all kinds of music.”

7.    Favorite movie?

“Phantom of the Opera.”

8.    Favorite food?

“Pizza Balls.”

9.    What advice would you give younger athletes?

“Keep giving your 100% effort and always encourage your teammates. Listen to your coaches! They help make a better player.”

 10.  What are your future goals?

“I want to go to college and major in psychology. But first, I want to graduate high school. When I’m older, I’d love to get married, live in the country and raise my own family.”
