Athlete of the Week: Ashton Walk

Name: Ashton Walk

Grade: 11

Sport: Football

Junior Ashton Walk has been the starting quarterback for the Golden Eagles since the latter part of his freshman year. Statistically, he is having the best season of his career, throwing for 1762 yards and 17 touchdowns. His arm is a weapon and his accuracy is outstanding. Against Penns Valley, Walk broke the single-game passing record previously held by Drew Hunter. With another full season left after this one, Walk could break many more records and be remembered as one of Tyrone’s greatest quarterbacks.


Eagle Eye: How did you first get involved with the sport?

Ashton Walk: I started playing flag football when I was five. 

EE: What other sport(s) or other activities are you involved in?

AW: Basketball and baseball

EE: Favorite college or pro sports team?

AW: Kansas City Chiefs

EE: Favorite college or pro athlete?

AW: Patrick Mahomes

EE: Who is your hero? Why?

AW: My dad because he supports me through everything and he is the person I look up to each day.

EE: What is your favorite food?

AW: Wings

EE: Favorite Movie/TV show

AW: Step Brothers

EE: Favorite band/musician?

AW: Morgan Wallen

EE: What advice would you give younger athletes?

AW: Work as hard as you can every single day.

EE: What are your future goals past High School

AW: Play college football and earn a degree.

Logan Rumberger is a junior at Tyrone Area High School. This is his second year on the Eagle Eye team and he also joined the yearbook team this year as well. Logan loves everything about sports. Allison Beeman is a senior in high school and in her third year of Eagle Eye. When Allison is not in school, she enjoys playing softball as an outfielder. During the summer she traveled to Denver, Colorado to play in a softball tournament. After high school, she would like to attend college to major in business.  Before coming to Tyrone Allison lived in West Virginia and before that Maryland. Some of Allison's interests include listening to music, traveling, and hanging out with friends.  This year in Eagle Eye, Allison looks forward to taking pictures at football games and writing softball stories.
