Twenty-one members of the Tyrone Area FFA Chapter recently represented their school at the 2026 Agriculture Cooperation Establishes Success (ACES) Leadership Conference, hosted by the Pennsylvania FFA Association at the Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey Hotel from January 31 to February 1.
The multi-weekend event welcomes more than 1,800 FFA members from across the state and aims to strengthen leadership, teamwork, and communication skills among Pennsylvania’s agricultural youth.
The workshops are divided into two tracks for underclassmen and another for upperclassmen. the conference featured interactive workshops, leadership sessions, and networking opportunities. Tyrone members embraced every moment as a chance to grow personally and professionally.
“ACES has been my favorite event for three years,” said junior Abby Lucas, “The people and the environment make the trip unforgettable. I’m grateful for the opportunity to meet new people and learn valuable lessons that I carry with me.”
For seniors like Gracie Graham, this year held special meaning as their final ACES experience.
“ACES is fantastic every year—from the educational workshops to the evening dance. Each moment offers learning, new friendships, and stronger bonds,” said Graham.
Underclassmen also found value in the experience. Sophomore Diego Montiel Bonilla appreciated the experience, “I’m grateful to have experienced this fun and inspirational conference. I learned skills on how to overcome adversity and challenges,” said Bonilla.
Members, including Alyssa Houck, Paige Hoy, and Madisen Jones, highlighted how the event strengthened their leadership, confidence, and sense of community within FFA.
The Tyrone Area FFA Chapter expressed appreciation to the Pennsylvania FFA Foundation for providing sponsorship support, which helped cover attendance costs and ensured all members had the opportunity to participate.
The ACES Leadership Conference remains a defining event for FFA members statewide, inspiring future leaders who will continue to advance agricultural education and community involvement across Pennsylvania.
