Third marking period Renaissance Star: Junior Mark Lewis
Each marking period the Renaissance Club chooses two students from each grade level as Renaissance Stars from nominations made by the teachers.
Junior Mark Lewis was chosen by math teacher Erica Martin.
Mrs. Martin’s quote:
“Mark puts forth 150% every day in math class, always working his hardest to understand the how/why things are. He also works as a peer tutor during my Algebra I class, where he works one on one with my students on a daily basis helping them to better understand the material. He is kind to his peers and sets a great example for others.”
Eagle Eye: What do you think about being named a Renaissance Star?
Mark Lewis: I am honored to be named a Renaissance Star, and very excited to be chosen.
EE: What is your favorite class this school year and why?
ML: Probably either chemistry or world cultures, I think both are very interesting.
EE: Who is your all time favorite teacher and why?
ML: Mrs. Martin, she is truly an incredible math teacher; she has a love for math that has, admittedly, rubbed off on me. She is also very fun to be around and easy to talk to.
EE: What are some goals that you hope to accomplish this school year?
ML: I hope that I can keep my grades up for the rest of the year and go into summer with no regrets.
EE: What are some of your favorite things about the Tyrone School District?
ML: I really enjoy the small personable type atmosphere. Everybody knows each others’ names and students can develop close relationships with teachers.
