Dr. Genevro is the former teacher of Tyrone Band Director David Hock.  In addition to being the director of bands at Messiah College, he is also the musical director of the Philadelphia Wind Symphony.

“I am really looking forward to having my professor from college guest conduct the event,” said Hock, “It’s always a fun experience for students to make great music with a great conductor.”

Six Blair County school districts will participate.  They are Tyrone, Bellwood, Altoona, Central, Claysburg Kimmel, and Hollidaysburg.

A total of 90 of the best young musicians in the county will rehearse and perform at TAHS.  The eight musicians from Tyrone who will participate are Elizabeth Brown, Rachel Robison, Derek Wilson, Kara Mills, Rebekah Schleppy, Hunter Jackson, Harley Stimer-Heywood, and Desiree Sparks.

This year’s musical selections include O Nata Lux, Danse Bohemien, Symphonic Overture, Cheerio March, and Courtly Airs and Dances.

The public is encouraged to attend.  Tickets for the event are sold at the door ($5 general, $3 students/seniors).
