The Tyrone Cross Country teams competed at home for the last time on Senior Night against the Bellwood Antis Blue Devils. The boys (7-2) and girls (3-6) both came out on top.

The night was full of emotions for the seven seniors. This group includes Marissa Lewis, Stephanie Ramsey, Emma Bartel, Adam Detwiler, Rory Quigley, Jason Barr, and Dominick Ray.

It’s hard to wrap my head around this being my last home meet. I’ve been running this course for 6 years and it flew. I’m going to miss the team and my coaches, more than I realize

— Marissa Lewis

This was the group of seniors who started the junior high Cross Country program. Marissa Lewis and Stephanie Ramsey are the first two runners to completely go through the program.

¨It’s hard to wrap my head around this being my last home meet. I’ve been running this course for 6 years and it flew. I’m going to miss the team and my coaches, more than I realize,¨ said Lewis.

With the boys meet, Freshman Aiden Detwiler came in leading the pack, followed by Adam Detwiler (2nd) and Rory Quigley (4th).

¨It was a bittersweet moment for me. I’m glad I spent 5 years on the team,¨ said Adam Detwiler.

The girls also beat the Devils with a nail-biting 26-29 victory. Beth Pearson led the pack, with her fourth first-place finish of the season. Pearson was followed by Stephanie Ramsey (3rd) and Marissa Lewis (4th).
