Tyrone FFA members Remington and Frances Weaver are attending the Agricultural Communications Next Gen Conference in Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas, this week from March 5 – 9.
While at the conference, the sisters will have the opportunity to explore the area and participate in sessions aimed at enhancing their understanding of agricultural communication.
Frances Weaver expressed her excitement about the trip.
“This will be a great opportunity to expand my knowledge and prepare me for the future. It also will allow me to travel to Texas. I have always wanted to travel there,” said Frances.
They plan to visit various locations in Texas, including the Teton Ridge at the American Rodeo, the State Fair of Texas, Fort Worth Stockyards, and RFD-TV.
The girls will also attend seven sessions during the conference, each with its own theme.

· Session 4: Future Road Map: Career Plan
· Session 5: Inclusion
· Session 6: Employability
· Session 7: Moving Forward
Senior Remington Weaver shared her enthusiasm for the conference.
“I am super excited to be able to attend the NextGen conference in Texas because of the opportunity to meet FFA members from across the country. Communication is a vital part of anything, and I am excited to gain new skills that will help me grow as an agricultural advocate,” said Remington.
Remington was awarded a $600 Next Gen Ag Communication 2024 Student Engagement grant through the National FFA Organization to assist with travel expenses to the conference.
