In the Golden Eagle vs. Golden Eagle matchup at Somerset, Tyrone sophomore Dylan Ewing went the distance, allowing only two runs in the bottom of the third, for a 5-2 Tyrone victory.

Tyrone highlighted their offense with eleven hits, with seniors Ross Gampe and Caiden Bonsell both collecting two hits on the day, and Ryan Seeger coming through with a clutch go-ahead single that scored the 3rd run of the game.

Tyrone’s outfield showed flashes of stardom, with Gayge Miller throwing out a runner attempting to tag up from third, to save a run for Tyrone, and Nathaniel Patterson chasing down a fly ball all the way to the right field line to make the catch.

Ewing had a good day on the mound.  Somerset did collect six hits, but Ewing stayed outr of trouble by making sure that they didn’t string hits together. The Eagles struggled to field cleanly throughout the day, with four errors being committed, which hurt them in the later innings.

Tyrone advances their record to 8-7, and Somerset falls to 6-5.
