The last ski club group to take a trip to Vermont.

The Tyrone Middle and High School Ski and Snowboard Club will return for the first time in three years since COVID canceled the ski and snowboard season in 2019.

“We are very excited for ski club to be back and are excited for what the year will bring,” said ski club advisor Dan Plummer.

The club plans to go on four trips to Blue Knob Ski Resort in Claysburg from January 12 to February 2, 2023.

The approximate cost of the trips to Blue Knob is $130-$170 which includes the cost of equipment rental, lift tickets, lessons, and transportation.

They are also tentatively planning to take a trip to Smugglers’ Notch Resort in Vermont from February 16th to February 20th. The approximate cost of the Vermont trip will be between $300-$500.

The cost for both the Blue Knob and Smugglers Notch trips can be offset through fundraising. Plummer plans to begin their first Mariannas Fundraiser starting Monday, September 26th through October 3rd.

Any Tyrone students in grades 6 through 12 can join. To sign up see Mr. Plummer in room 153 or email him at [email protected].
