The Tyrone golf team prevailed again in their third Mountain League match of the season at Huntington Country Club on Thursday, September 20, bringing the team to an undefeated 21-0 record.

Senior Andrew Ferguson led the team shooting 75. Following close behind, junior Brent McNeel shot 79. Behind McNeel, sophomore Jacob Taylor shot 82. Finally, senior Sam Ayers shot 86.

“I felt really good about my 86. I felt like it was going a little rough, to be honest with you until the scorekeeper told me my score. I didn’t believe him at first but then we recounted scores,” said Ayers.

Once again, Ferguson, McNeel, and Taylor all hit the top ten leaderboard. Ferguson took 2nd place. McNeel took 4th place. Taylor took 7th place. Ayers just missed the leaderboard by two strokes.

“Thinking of Tyrone being undefeated makes me proud to be apart and play with such a great group of guys,” said Ferguson.

The golf team looks forward to their final match of the regular season at Philipsburg tomorrow.
