Tyrone FFA Clay Shoot Sees Biggest Turnout in a Decade

With 111 participants and a total of eighteen teams competing, Tyrone FFA had a busy day at their annual Clay Shoot, guiding shooters through the course with 18 volunteers running five shooting stands.

Tyrone Senior AJ Coleman was one of the many participants who enjoyed the day.

“It’s really fun to go with my group and laugh and have a good time, despite a good score or a bad one,” said Coleman.

The winners of the Lewis Class shooting were as follows:

Class A – Corey Diehl
Class B – Joe Sklenar
Class C – Richard Biter
Class D – Daniel Peterson
Class E – Kyle Patton

The highest-scoring junior shooter was Brady Brown.

The highest scoring team was from J. Briggs Transport, Inc. – Jim Briggs, Jesse Stringer, Brady Brown, and Tanner Briggs.

Ag Advisor Tiffany Hoy thanked the sponsors saying,

The fundraising goal was $3,000, and the event exceeded expectations bringing in just over $4,100.

“The FFA members raise all their own funds through fundraising projects and grant-writing. We are very grateful for the support the sponsors and participants provided,” said Tyrone FFA Adviser Tiffany Hoy.

Dylan plays for our Golden Eagles baseball team and is an active member of the Tyrone Area FFA, winning seventh place at the National Agriscience competition at the 93rd Annual National FFA Convention.  Dylan enjoys technology, sports, and writing, which makes him an active and helpful member of the Eagle Eye. Dylan plans to write for the Eagle Eye until he graduates. He tries to have fun and keep things light while working and continuously improve at what he does.
