Tyrone Baseball Falls to Bald Eagle 9-5

Ross Gampe reaches home after his solo home run in the second inning.

The Golden Eagles lost for the second time this season, falling to Bald Eagle Area 9-5 on Monday, April 11.

Tyrone scored first on a solo home run in the second by starting pitcher Ross Gampe.

The Golden Eagles added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly by Caiden Bonsell scoring Gampe, and a wild pitch, scoring Zach LeGars, extending Tyrone’s lead to 3-0 after four innings.

But Bald Eagle’s bats came to life in the top of the fifth. BEA scored 5 in the fifth, and two in the sixth and seventh innings.

However, Tyrone didn’t give up, scoring two more runs in the bottom of the seventh with RBIs from Luke Brooks and Aiden Coleman, but the six-run deficit was too much to make up and BEA went home with the 9-5 win.

With the loss, Tyrone’s record is now even at 2-2.
