The Color Blast Fun Run/Walk Returns to TASD on April 20

Register by April 6 to guarantee a race t-shirt. Late registration will be open up to race day.

The annual Color Blast Fun Run/Walk will return to the Tyrone Area School District campus on Saturday, April 20.

Registration is open now and all participants who register by this Friday, April 6, are guaranteed an official race t-shirt.

“We are excited that The Color Blast is back with help from the Tyrone Race Series. All the proceeds from this event will directly support student activities district-wide,” said Tyrone School Psychologist and Color Blast planning committee chair Kourtney Klock.

The Color Blast is a community event, open to all ages and abilities. Students, community members, and families can register to walk the 1-mile course or run the 5K loop around the district campus.

There will also be lots to do for those who can’t or don’t want to run or walk the course.

The event begins at 8:30 am with same-day registration, food trucks, raffles, vendors, a photo booth, and other pre-race activities for everyone. The 1-mile walk and 5k run will begin at 11 am in the Tyrone Area High School parking lot, and the event will conclude by 1 pm.

“What makes the Color Blast unique is the focus on fun. This is an untimed event and there will be color stations throughout the course where participants are showered with non-toxic powder in a rainbow of colors. Runners and walkers are also encouraged to dress as crazy as they like, but white attire is encouraged for maximum color impact,” said race planning committee member Cummins McNitt.
