TAHS-TAMS Band presents winter concert on Thursday, December 3
The concert will feature solos by Elizabeth Brown, Rachel Robison, Kerrigan Julian and Rae Bonsell
The Tyrone Area High School music program will present their annual 2015 winter concert on December 3rd, 2015 at 7:00 pm.
All bands are under the direction of Mr. David Hock. According to Hock, the concert selections will be a mix of familiar and unfamiliar pieces. Many are holiday pieces, but not all. Hock choose the music by searching through his department’s library.
“I couldn’t buy new music for this concert, so I searched our library. I came across these pieces, some of which I have never heard before, but after hearing them decided to do them for the concert. Discovering new music and some ‘old gems’ is an enjoyable experience,” said Hock.

The jazz band will have a few featured soloists – Elizabeth Brown on piano, Rachel Robison on alto saxophone, Kerrigan Julian on tenor saxophone, Rae Bonsell on baritone saxophone.
The middle school will also perform a combined piece, Home for the Holidays, with the high school band.
The concert will end, as always, with a stage performance from the marching band of their current season’s marching show and the fight song.
The event is free to the public and Hock encourages everyone to attend.
“It’s going to be a great concert!” said Hock.
In addition to the concert, the marching band will also perform at the Tyrone Community Christmas Parade this Friday, December 4th at 6:15.
