Junior Collin Rhoades was able to prompose to his long time girlfriend senior Carrie Vance with a “play on words.”

Collin made a poster that said, “It would be killer if you were my prom date. Whale you be?” He was able to come up with the idea because he knows that Carrie loves whales and word play.

Collin knew that Carrie would say yes as soon as she saw it, but he just really wanted her to like it.

“I asked Carrie to prom because she is very special to me,” said Rhoades, “I wouldn’t want to go with anyone else.”

When Collin promposed, Carrie was so surprised. Because they are already dating, Carrie wasn’t expecting a formal invitation.

Carrie knew she would say yes right away because they went to prom together last year and she had a really fun time with him.

Collin and Carrie are both excited to spend time with their friends and each other at their second prom.

“I am excited to spend the evening dancing with my friends and getting all dressed up,” said Vance.

“I am excited to spend my second prom night with Carrie Vance,” said Rhoades.
