TAHS Band hosts successful home show
Tyrone held their first competition for the 2016 TIA (Tournament Indoor Association) season at the Tyrone Middle and High School on February 27, 2016. Tyrone hosted a total of 44 units from different schools in the area.
The competition began at 10:00 am with the majorette and dance teams. Following the dance teams, the percussion groups started their performances. Tyrone achieved a score of 70.75 for the first performance of the year. Mifflin County achieved a score of 76.30 and placed first in the SAS category.
Following the percussion performances, the Colorguard caption began. The Tyrone guard achieved a score of 50.13 on their first performance of the year.
At an indoor competition, the groups are placed into a class. Each class has a specific skill set for the groups to perform. The Tyrone percussion is in the Scholastic A Stationary percussion caption while the guard is in the Scholastic Intermediate class in the guard caption.
