Burden My Surrender is the inaugural PA band of the week.
The band was started in 2008 in Wellsboro, PA by lead singer Britney Johnson and drummer Brad Buffington. They recruited Kyle Linscott on bass, Dale Schoonover on rhythm guitar and Mat Marsiglio on lead guitar as well as vocals.
Burden My Surrender takes rock and metal and blends it with a pop punk sound to create a unique sound. In 2009, the band released their first self-titled EP with their hot song Rip and Tear.
They toured Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, and New York extensively to support the EP playing with bands such as Art of Dying, Candlelight Red, Enter Shikari, For Today, Anti Flag and many more.
They also played on the Vans Warped Tour in 2011 and 2012.
In March 2013, they released their debut album entitled Channels. The album was highly praised by fans and critics.
Since March, Burden My Surrender has been playing many shows around Pennsylvania and has also entered in the 2013 Warped Battle of the Bands competition.
Even though this band is relatively new, they have been able to accomplish many achievements in a relatively short amount of time. Many good things are foreseeable in Burden My Surrender’s future.
