Tyrone’s gym teacher Mrs. Park has been chosen as the May Renaissance “Teacher of the Month.”  Mrs. Park has been teaching for 21.5 years.  She attended State College High School and Penn State University where she earned a BS in Health and Physical Education/Master Credits in Environmental Education.

Park says “it’s nice to be recognized”, in regard to winning Teacher of the Month.

According to Park, She was inspired to be a teacher by a teacher she had in elementary school. She was also interested in art and oceanography.

Park really likes all sports, but if she had to pick a favorite it would be volleyball. Park likes the Pittsburgh Steelers as her favorite professional team.

Park has really enjoyed teaching at Tyrone, she said, “I enjoy when a student you are teaching finally gets it.” Park is about to retire so when she is done  she plans to travel, hike, fish, hunt, camp, take lots of pictures which is her passion, play guitar, and kayak.

Park likes a variety of music and books, along with sports.
