Minnesota teen’s message goes viral
A teen in Minnesota gained instant, overnight fame from posting a video of her singing on Facebook just the other night. Her song is called “His Daughter” and it has a message I believe the students at Tyrone High School should be exposed to.
The song is the story of a drunken father and the struggles his daughter is going through. Girls are making fun of her at school.
She said, “If there’s a God out there, please hear my prayer. I’m lost and I’m scared, and I’ve got nowhere else to go. I’ve come a long, long way, but I’m not sure I can make it much farther. So if you’re listening, could you give a helping hand- to your daughter?”
It is the story of her struggles and everything she goes through without having the most important man in her life to not be in her life. She says she ends up going after a lot of other men so she can have a man in her life to love her. Then one day, she decided it was okay for her to take a drink, too. One thing led to another, and nine months later, she was giving birth to a baby.
She prayed. “If there’s a God out there, please hear my prayer. I’m lost and I’m scared, and I’ve got nowhere else to run. I’ve come a long, long way, but I’m not sure I can be the best mother. So if you’re listening, could you please giving a help hand- to your daughter?”
That baby grew up to be a boy, and was her blessed son. He loved her the way no other man ever could. She had finally gotten a man’s love that she so craved in life. So she ends her song, writing:
“And as she lay there in that bed 99 years old She grabbed her sons hand and said There’s something you must know… There is a God up there Who heard my prayer I was lost and afraid And I had no where else to go. I had know clue, what to do And then He sent me you. So if you’re lost and afraid and you feel so alone don’t worry child ’cause there’s a Father who will love you as His own Just like he loved his daughter. Like he loved His daughter.”
It is a message that I believe all Tyrone students should be exposed to. This is a girl who had a rough, rough life. She fought through it all. She was made fun of. She lacked a man’s true love. She didn’t feel wanted. But one day, everything came together. She had a son. Her prayers were answered. She believed in God, and he was there for her.
So, to all Tyrone students, if you’re ever having trouble with life and are going through something tough- have faith. You’ll be okay.
