The game started with both teams’ defense fighting off the other’s attacking forwards, with neither team able to break through the other’s defensive line.

Tyrone got on the board first though at the 21:05 mark. The scoring play began with a nice save by Walls, who took the ball to the edge of the box and sent a long punt to senior Chloe LaRosa.

LaRosa played the punt off the bounce, putting it over the defender’s head and into the goal for the score.

“It was nice to see a break in the center of the field to connect a punt for Chloe to score,” said Walls.

The first half ended 1-0 with Tyrone holding a slim 1-0 lead.

But Tyrone scored again in the second half at 56:31 when sophomore Briley Campbell dribbled past a Central Mountain defender to score Tyrone’s second goal of the night.

Just two minutes later Tyrone sophomore Lexi Hess got the just ball outside the 18 and laid the ball back to senior Avalyn Moore for the third and final goal of the game.

Tyrone’s defense kept Central Mountain from scoring for the rest of the game keeping it 3-0.
