I think we played hard, for having a game the night before. We played good defense holding them to just 30 points

However the story of the game was not the Lady Eagles big scorers, it was the Lady Eagles lockdown defense. They held the Clearfield offense to only 19 points in the first three quarters.

“I think we played hard, for having a game the night before. We played good defense holding them to just 30 points,” said head coach Luke Rhoades

Tyrone jumped out to an early 19-11 lead in the first quarter.

The story of the second quarter was the Lady Eagles strong defensive performance, which held the Clearfield offense to only 2 points for the quarter.

The first half came to a close with Tyrone holding a comfortable 32-13 lead.

In the second half the Lady Eagles jumped right back into rhythm and continued to drain shots and prevent Clearfield from gaining any offensive rhythm. The Lady Eagles dominating defense held Clearfield to a total of six points in the quarter. The third quarter ended with the Lady Eagles on top 50-19.

The Lady Eagles closed out the game strong defeating Clearfield 60-19 for their 6th straight victory. With the victory on Saturday, the Lady Eagles remain atop the Mountain League in a three-way tie for first place.
