Lady Eagles extend their win streak to ten with 47-37 win over the Lady Bearcats

The Tyrone girls have won 10 in a row after starting the season 1-3

Tyrone Lady Eagles extended their win streak to ten after beating the Huntingdon Lady Bearcats 47-37.

The Lady Eagles started off slow, ending the first half with a one point lead, 15-14.  Sophomore Kasey Engle connected with six vital 3-pointers in the game and was the game’s leading scorer with 22 points.

“It sounds like a broken record, but we need to have energy for very game we play,” said Engle.

The Lady Eagles came out strong after the half, scoring 17 points in the third quarter and holding the Bearcats to only nine.

Junior Finnley Christine hit two 3-point goals to end the game with a total of 12 points.

Both teams played hard in the fourth quarter but Tyrone managed to outscore Huntingdon 15-14 to end the game.

Tyrone stopped Huntingdon’s lead scorer, Bri Rivello for most of the game but Rivello was able hit three 3-pointers late in the game to bring Huntingdon to within 10.

Freshmen Emily Lehman and Payton Wagner played smart late in the fourth ending with seven points combined.

The Lady Eagles are back in action tonight at Clearfield.
