Lady Eagles Down Penns Valley

Cate Baran throws another great pitch.

The Lady Eagles brought the bats in a four run third inning, leading to a 5-2 win over Penns Valley.

Madison Coleman started the inning with a walk and advanced to second and third. Karly Diebold put the ball in play to get on first with an error by Penns Valley Winnie Grot got on with a fielder’s choice and Cate Baran singled to score Coleman and Diebold. Ella Pearson singled to right field to score Grot. Ally Jones was up next with a fielder’s choice to shortstop to score Baran. The Lady Eagles finished the third inning with a 4-0 lead.

The Lady Eagles fifth run came in the bottom of the fourth. Maci Brodzina started the inning with a single to right field. Brodzina advanced to second with a steal and third on passed ball. Victoria Reese hits Brodzina in for an RBI.

The Lady Rams scored both of their runs in the fourth inning. Ryah Thompson reached first on an error then moved to second on passed ball. Caroline Collison singled to left field to move Thompson to third. Kailen Winkelblech hit a single to left field and Thompson scored. Lydia Collison hit a ground ball and reached on an error to score C. Collison.

Baran got the win for a Tyrone and struck out nine batters and walked two. Kendra Bumgardner took the lose with six strike outs and two walks.

Baran, Pearson, Jones, Brodzina, Reese, and Callie Maceno all had one hit for the six hits as a team.

The Lady Eagles next game is Thursday, April 4th at Clearfield at 4:30pm.
