Lady Eagles Demolish Juniata in the First Round of Playoffs

The sixth-seeded Tyrone Lady Eagles volleyball team defeated the Juniata Indians 3-0 on Thursday, October 27th for the first round of the PIAA District 6 2A Girls Volleyball playoffs.

The first set started off well for the Lady Eagles, who tested Juniata’s ball control and won the set 25-10.

This next set started with Tyrone serving first. Junior Maddy Rockwell went on an 18-point serving run. At this point, the score was 18-1. The Lady Eagles kept up the good serves on Juniata’s weak defense, and Tyrone took this set 25-5.

The Lady Eagles were up on the Indians 2-0, and they felt confident that they could achieve the win in straight sets, and move on to the second round of the playoffs.

Tyrone kept racking up kill counts and won this set easily, 25-12.

The 11-6 Lady Eagles will face the third-seeded Forest Hills Rangers in the second round of playoffs on Tuesday, November 1st at Forest Hills.
