Lady Eagles Continue Mountain League Dominance

The Tyrone Lady Eagles delivered another performance to convince viewers that they belong on top of the Mountain League, besting Philipsburg 58-42.

Tyrone was led by senior Sydney Shaw who’s 22 point night moved her into 8th all time in scoring. The Lady Eagles also received a strong performance by freshman Jaida Parker who scored 11.

The first quarter was an even match between the two teams with Tyrone leading 10-7 going into the final minute of the quarter. Tyrone brought the ball down looking to get off one final shot. Jaida Parker got the ball as the seconds wound down and drained the three at the buzzer giving Tyrone a 13-7 lead after one.

The momentum Tyrone gained on that final shot was carried over into the second as their offense stayed red hot erupting for 15 points while holding P.O. to only 5. Tyrone went into the half leading 28-12.

The Lady Eagles offense got even hotter coming out of the locker room as they gave P.O. no hope of a comeback ultimately putting the game away in the third going up 44-21 at the end of the quarter.

P.O. doubled their points from the first three quarters in the final frame but the Lady Eagle’s lead from the first three quarters was too much to overcome. The final score was 58-42.

With the victory the Lady Eagles boost their lead in the Mountain League over Penns Valley. With the victory the Lady Eagles record moves to 14-4 with a 11-1 record in the Mountain League.
