Sophomore Jaida Parker goes up for a layup

The Lady Eagles steamrolled the Huntingdon Bearcats 62-26 Friday night to maintain their lead atop the Mountain League. The Lady Eagles remain undefeated against teams not from Bellwood.

Tyrone was led by the underclassmen duo of Jaida Parker and Emma Getz. the duo combined for 29 points with Getz tallying 14 and Parker with 15. Tyrone’s hot streak from beyond the arc continued as they knocked down 7. 

Tyrone controlled the game from the opening tip off. They came out of the gate and doubled Huntington’s score in the first quarter. They held a 14-7 over the Bearcats.

Tyrone’s defense came out in the second quarter and snuffed out every scoring chance the Bearcats had. They held the Huntingdon offense to only 2 points. They held a controlling 29-9 halftime lead.  

Tyrone came out in the second half and slammed the door close on the Bearcat comeback. They held Huntingdon to only 18 points in the second half while putting up 33 more. 

With the win Tyrone moves to 12-2 on the year with a 8-0 record in the Mountain League. They look to stay red hot Tuesday night when the Clearfield Bison come to Tyrone.
