Lady Eagles Advance to Semi-Finals

The Lady Eagles secured a place in the D6 AA semi-finals after defeating Forest Hills 3-2 in the quarterfinals last night at Mansion Park in Altoona.

“It was definitely a tough game, but from here on out, they are going to be that way. I’m so proud of this team and especially our keeper who had to step up for a huge game,” said Tyrone senior Chloe LaRosa, who scored two of Tyrone’s three goals on the night.

The game was close but the Lady Eagles managed to pull through with a win to advance further into the playoffs.

The Eagles had a 2-0 lead for most of the first half. Just minutes into the game sophomore Briley Campbell scored Tyrone’s first goal. She was assisted by senior Eliza Vance.

Senior Chloe LaRosa laid another one into the net on an assist by senior Avalyn Moore at the 13:46 mark to give Tyrone a 2-0 lead.

“The feeling after scoring was just amazing because you look back and just see the entire team that’s behind you the whole way. I can’t wait to see how far this team is going to go,” said LaRosa.

But at the end of the first half Forest Hills came back to tie the game 2-2.

The Eagles kept pushing and LaRosa managed to score again on a pass from Eliza Vance.

After this goal, Tyrone regained the 3-2 lead.

The game ended with the ball bouncing around inside Tyrone’s 18 but the Tyrone defense was able to lock Forest Hills out in the final seconds to secure the playoff win.

Freshman Hailey Loupe stepped in to play keeper as senior Rayann Walls was out for the game. Loupe made numerous great saves throughout the game to keep Tyrone in the game.
