Last week was a very important one for the Golden Eagle football team. We knew that if we defeated Bald Eagle, then we would have a shot at sharing the conference title for the season.

Tyrone has not lost to Bald Eagle for over twenty years and we definitely did not want to be the team to finally fall to BEA. The week of practices was not the most enthusiastic one we had, but going into the game we knew this would be no pushover.

Though James Oliver broke the single game rushing record against the Eagles last year, the team knew that this was a much improved team. With this in mind, we prepared for a tough game on Friday night.

On the night of the game, I do not think any of us were too happy with the heat of the day. Eighty degree whether in October is not ideal football weather. However, we fought through the heat and BEA was playing in the same heat as we were.

The victory now allows us to go into this big showdown with Clearfield to earn ourselves a share of the conference title if we then win out the rest of the season. Clearfield presents a tough game for us, but we are preparing for them and are excited for this big game to get a share of the title.
