Girls soccer fell to Clearfield 2-1. All three goals were scored the first half.

“It was a very well played game, we just couldn’t finish. It was the best game I’ve seen the girls play yet this season,” said Tyrone senior captain Madison Soellner.

The Lady Bison came out strong and scored only 16 second into the game. However, the Lady Eagles didn’t hang their heads and kept up the offensive pressure, scoring 23 minutes later when  Tyrone’s  Avalyn Moore went one-on-one with Clearfield’s goalie and knocked the ball out of her hands for an open net.

A few minutes later, Tyrone got called on a hand ball just outside of the 18 box. The Lady Bison took the opportunity and scored the go-ahead goal on the ensuing free kick.

The rest of the game, both teams remained defensively strong and could not put together another goal.

The Lady Eagles dropped to 3-8 on the season while the Bison improved to 8-3. The Lady Eagles next game is October 3rd at Penns Valley at 6 pm.
