Freshman Jack Murtagh

Eagle Eye: What is the biggest difference from middle school to high school?

Jack Murtagh: The biggest difference would be that you have to be your own advocate in high school as opposed to in middle school. If you are unsure about something, then you have to take it upon yourself to ask someone for help.

EE: What is your hardest class this year? Why?

JM: Spanish is pretty difficult. I think why it is for me is due to the fact that memorization isn’t what I’m good at. Plus, I don’t necessarily have the best study habits either.

EE: What is your favorite past of high school so far? Why?

JM: I like the level of involvement you can have with the school. A good cafeteria’s always nice, too.

EE: Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? If so, what?

JM: As of right now, I’m all about the golf life.

EE: What are some of your favorite activities or hobbies?

JM: I enjoy fishing a lot during the summer. It’s always a good time to go ballin’, too. I also enjoy playing golf, hiking, and getting my game on, too.

EE: What is your favorite movie?

JM: I think the two latest Sherlock Holmes movies are very good. I’m also a big fan of A Few Good Men and Forrest Gump.

EE: What is your favorite sports team?

JM: I would say the Penn State men’s basketball team. I think that college, as a whole, is great to watch because it’s great to see new, prospective players on their rise to the NBA.

EE: What is your favorite food?

JM: My favorite food is calamari. However, I like any assortment of good seafood.

EE: What is your favorite band or musical artist?

JM: The Stone Temple Pilots are my favorite band.

EE: What advice would you give to next year’s freshmen?

JM: I would say to take high school seriously because if you make a bad academic reputation for yourself now, there’s no getting it back later on when you’re applying for college education. Do the best you can now so that you can have the best life possible later on.
