Fifth Annual Halloween YAN Event Scheduled for October 23rd

The fifth annual YAN Halloween event will be held at the Tyrone Area High School from 5-7 on Tuesday, October 23rd. Children from preK to grade four and their families are welcome to the event.

Children are encouraged to dress in their Halloween costumes. Throughout the night, kids will receive treats, make crafts, and play games in various classrooms.

This year, there are 18 clubs, sports, and organizations involved in the event, including YAN, Eagle Eye, POPS Extension, Cheerleading, HOSA, the Language Club, the Nutrition Group, football team, Administrative and Guidance Staff, and more.

“The kids that come love the event, and so do we. We love throwing this event and seeing the adorable kids come back every year in costume. They come in and they are so happy to participate in the activities we have planned!” said YAN Vice-President senior Ava McCracken.

Last year, the event broke the attendance record and the donation record. 780 visitors came to the event and raised $900 for charities.

The event is free, but donations of $2 per person or $5 per family are appreciated.

This year, all donations will split between the Panzi Foundation Hospital in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the American Red Cross for Hurricane victims.
