The Golden Eagles opened their season with a win against the Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers on Thursday, December 7th.

Tyrone senior Andrew Weaver built on the Eagle’s lead by destroying Hollidaysburg’s 189-pounder. Weaver’s aggressiveness was able to allow him to pick up a pin in 1:28.

The action at 215 was everything but boring. Tyrone’s Richard Rawlings was down 4-0 after getting thrown by Hollidaysburg’s  Tyson Bridenbaugh. Rawlings was trailing 6-4 going into the third. Both wrestlers were dead tired, Rawlings went on a 5-point score streak, escaping off the bottom and taking down Bridenbaugh to take the lead 7-6.
