Senior Skyler McCaulley knew his girlfriend Kara Engle from Bellwood had a love for pigs, so he knew he wanted to incorporate pigs into his promposal.

Skyler bought four stuffed pigs and set signs in front of all of them. The first pig held a sign that read “The guys will wear tuxes and the girls will wear gowns”, the second pig held a sign that read “There will my loud music and crazy dancing all around”, the third pig held a sign that read “There will be tons of friends and lots of laughs”, and the fourth pig held a sign that read “It will no doubt be a blast”. Skyler also bought a pig onesie that he wore and held a sign saying “This 6ft piggy says I need a date and you’re the one I want. Will you please please please come with me to Prom?”

Eagle Eye: Describe in detail how you asked them.

SM: “Lately she has been talking about having a baby pig as a pet, so I figured why not be the baby pig she wants? So I based my promposal off “this little piggy” switched some of the words to the special meaning between us. I bought four stuffed pigs to hold up their signs and I also bought a pig onesie so after the promposal she can keep the pigs and the onesie I used. This idea took about a month to prepare and make it unique to her personality.”

EE: Why did you choose this person to ask?

SM: “The question should be, “why wouldn’t I choose her?'” 

EE: Where did you get the inspiration for the idea?

SM: “Her favorite animal is a pig and she’s been bringing up a convo about wanting a baby pig.”

EE: What relationship do you have with this person?

SM: “She’s the love of my life, my girlfriend, and my best friend.”

Eagle Eye: Give your side of the story. Why do you think they asked you?

KE: “I was driving down the alley to arrive at Skyler’s house. I saw him sitting in a pig costume while his mom was recording. I love pigs so the pig theme was an incredible idea. He asked me because we are dating and also are best friends. He is my favorite person to hang out with. He never fails to put a smile on my face.” 

EE: Describe in detail how you were asked and how you felt.

KE: “He asked me as I arrived at his house. He used a pig theme since it is my dream to have a pet pig. Nobody has ever done something so thoughtful so I was pretty emotional.”

EE: Did you have any suspicions that you were going to be asked by them?

KE: “Skyler is terrible at keeping surprises to himself. I knew he had something planned, but I had no idea when it was going to happen.”

EE: Why should you win the contest?

KE: “I think we should win the contest because of how much thought he put into this. He sat outside for two hours waiting for me to arrive. He is the sweetest person I have ever met and I am so proud to call him my boyfriend.”
