Eagle Eye Promposal Contest: Moana Go to Prom?
Senior Aary Wright and junior Brent McNeel are dating and Aary wanted Brent to prompose before she left for Romania.
Brent used her love for the Disney movie Moana by dressing up as a hula girl outfit. Wearing a grass skirt, luau’s on his ankles, neck, and hair, and a coconut bra, Brent surprised Aary after track practice with his outfit. As he walked into her house he had “How Far I’ll Go” from the movie playing and holding a sign saying “I’ve Traveled Across the OCEAN To Ask You This…Do You MOANA Go To Prom?”.
Promposer: Brent McNeel
Eagle Eye: Describe in detail how you asked them.
BM: “I dawned the trappings of a hula girl, and then preceded to process up her escalderas, accompanied with a sweet song of the sea. I’ve been slaving after this for years. Neigh…decades. She emphatically accepted my generous offer. Because neigh I say how could she say neigh.”
EE: Why did you choose this person to ask?
BM: “She’s the apple of my eye. The light of my life. The fruit of my looms. Neigh, for I bore no offspring.”
EE: Where did you get the inspiration for the idea?
BM: “For whom, make himself be known, is not subject to weeping, after bearing witness to Moana.”
EE: What relationship do you have with this person?
BM: “I harbor enamorous acclimations toward her personage and this is the next step in our courtship.”
Promposee: Aary Wright
Eagle Eye: Give your side of the story. Why do you think they asked you?
AW: “I think he asked me because he is my boyfriend and we wanted to go to prom together.”
EE: Describe in detail how you were asked and how you felt.
AW: “I just got back from track and heard Moana music playing downstairs and I was confused. Then I saw Brent wearing a hula girl outfit and immediately burst into laughter because of how ridiculous it was.”
EE: Did you have any suspicions that you were going to be asked by them?
AW: “I knew he was going to, I just didn’t know when. Plus I was leaving for Romania and I wanted him to ask me before I left.”
EE: Why should you win the contest?
AW: “Because his idea was super funny and original and it made my day to see him in a bra and skirt.”
