Eagle Eye Promposal Contest: From Pager to Rager
Junior Jamie Lynch found a creative way to ask her fire fighting friend to prom the same way they met. Tyler Potts was surprised to find Jamie hidden in the training room during a drill one evening holding a sign that said “Forget the pager, let’s go to a rager!”. After meeting at fire training a few months ago, the two will be “lighting it up” on their way to prom.
Promposer: Jamie Lynch
Eagle Eye: Describe in detail how you asked them.
Jamie Lynch: I had the guys at the station do an in house training where he had to follow a hose line and search a room blindfolded. I was hiding in the room he had to search, and he ran into me. Then, we let him take his face piece off so he could see the sign I was holding.
EE: Why did you choose this person to ask?
JL: Because he’s one of my closest friends, and I wouldn’t want to go with anyone else
EE: Where did you get the inspiration for the idea?
JL: Since we have been in fire training together for months, it seemed right.
EE: What relationship do you have with this person?
JL: He’s my best friend
Promposee: Tyler Potts
EE: Give us side of the story. Why do you think they asked you?
Tyler Potts: I think she asked me because over the past couple months we’ve become really good friends due to fire training and she knows prom will be a lot of fun with me.
EE: Describe in detail how you were asked and how you felt.
TP: I walked into my fire hall and three of our other members were there. They made me put on my gear and then blindfolded me. I had to follow a hose through the station until we came to a doorway. I was told to search the room. I was following the wall until I felt someone’s leg. I lifted my blindfold and saw her folding the sign asking me to prom.
EE: Did you have any suspicions that you were going to be asked by them?
TP: I was told to be at the station for a training, I had no idea I was getting asked to prom.
EE: Why should you win the contest?
TP: Because she put in a tremendous amount of work into it and it was very sweet and original.
