The Lady Eagles fell to the Lady Dragons on Tuesday night by a score of 36-31.

Sydney Shaw was Tyrone’s only player in double figures with 11 points.

In the first half we had open looks, but you have to give their defense credit.

— Head Coach Luke Rhoades

Central started the game on an 11-0 run. Tyrone didn’t score until Shaw made a 3-pointer with 2:10 left in the first quarter.

“In the first half we had open looks, but you have to give their defense credit. We just didn’t hit them, [but] that’s the way it goes sometimes,” Tyrone head coach Luke Rhoades said.

Central’s tough defense keyed in on Shaw, who was far below her average from beyond the arc.

Despite this, the Lady Eagles only trailed by nine with less than four minutes to play.

The Eagles made a late game run that ended with Shaw’s second and final 3-pointer of the game, putting the Lady Eagles ahead, 31-30 with 1:16 to play.

However, they were unable to hold the lead. Forced to foul at the end of the contest, Central made their free throws and ended the game 36-31.

This handed the Lady Eagles their second loss in the Mountain League.
