The Tyrone Golden Eagle wrestlers lost their match last night against Bald Eagle Area by a score of 58-16.

The first match of the night was Tyrone’s Zack Lash against Bald Eagle’s Matthew Knepp at 182. Lash started off the night hot for the Golden Eagles with a pin at 5:03.

Unfortunately, a losing streak would follow Lash’s win with Butch Barr, Luke Hite, Parker Allen, and Corry Walls all losing to Bald Eagle wrestlers. Two of those losses were pins, which quickly put the match out of reach for the Golden Eagles.

Junior Hunter Walk stopped Tyrone’s losing streak by winning a major decision against Jeffrey Piffer in a score of 12-2.

Two forfeits in the next two weight classes by the Golden Eagles created a bigger scoring gap between the two teams.

Tyrone’s Gavin Frazzell put up a good fight against Isaac Packer of BEA but like many of the Golden Eagles, would be pinned.

Senior Mason Walls pinned his opponent in the second period for what would be Tyrone’s third and final win of the night.

The losing streak then came back to haunt the Golden Eagles with Dominick Maloney, Jermaine Myers, Dean Grassi, and Alex Weaver, three of which were pins.
