Sport: Tennis

Grade: 12

Accomplishments: Winnie has a 9-2 record on the season, and is undefeated in the Mountain League.  She won in the first round and quarterfinals of the district singles championships, losing in the semifinals to the number 2 seed.  She will play in the district doubles championships with senior Lindsey Walk next week.


Eagle Eye: How did you first get involved in this sport?

Winnie Grot: “My mom signed me up.”

EE: What other sports do you play?

WG: “Cheerleading, Softball, and Skiing”

EE: Favorite professional sports team?

WG: “Philadelphia Flyers”

EE: Favorite professional athlete?

WG: “Naomi Osaka”

EE: Who is your hero? Why?

WG: “My dad because he always teaches me how to improve my game in all the sports I play and in school work.”

EE: Favorite band/musician?

WG: “None”

EE:  Favorite movie?

WG: “None”

WG: “Pasta”

EE: What advice would you give younger athletes?

WG: “It may be hard work, but hard work doesn’t mean it’s impossible.”

EE: What are your future goals?

WG: “Go to college to major in kinesiology.”
