Athlete of the Week: Samuel Crilly

Name: Sam Crilly

Sport: Basketball

Grade: 11

Accomplishments:

Crilly scored 20 points in a 67-60 win over Penns Valley, had 21 points in a 65-64 upset of Johnstown and 19 points in a 69-52 win over Bishop McCort. Crilly is averaging 15.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game and shoots 88% from the free throw line. Tyrone is 13-6. Congratulations Sam!

EE: How did you first get involved in this sport?

SC: I always shot on my Fisher Price hoop in the living room when I was younger.

SC: Track

SC: Liverpool FC

SC: Payton Pritchard

EE: Who is your hero? Why?

SC: My parents. They are my biggest supporters and always push me to be the best I can.

EE: What advice can you give to younger athletes?

SC: Work in silence and stay confident.

SC: Play basketball in college and earn a degree.

Ashton is currently a junior at Tyrone Area High School. This is his first year in Eagle Eye. In his free time, he likes to hang out with his friends and family. After high school, he plans on attending college and continuing his athletic career. Ashton is a three-sport athlete who competes in football, basketball, and baseball. This year, he plans on writing meaningful stories on sports in the Eagle Eye with his friends. One of Ashton's dreams in life is to play college football at the Division 1 level.  A fun fact about Ashton is he's easy to talk to and get along with.
