Athlete of the Week: Kendall Lehner


Name: Kendall Lehner

Sport: Basketball

Grade: 11

Accomplishments: Lehner was the MVP of the Reliance Bank Kiwanis Club Tournament, scoring 16 points vs. Bellwood-Antis and 22 points vs. Penn Cambria. He is averaging 14 points per game along with 7 rebounds. He is also shooting 70% from the field. He has contributed in manyways to help the Eagles to a 6-3 record.

Eagle Eye: How did you first get involved in this sport?

KL: I started playing in a Northern Blair Rec league in Kindergarten.

KL: Sacramento Kings

EE: Favorite professional athlete?

KL: Neymar Jr.

EE: Who is your hero? Why?

KL: My hero is my mother because she always has taken time out of her day and dedicated it to me

KL: Offset

KL: Hoosiers

KL: Chicken and rice

EE: What advice can you give to younger athletes?

KL: How you deal with adversity lays the foundation for you will be.

KL: Attend trade school to pursue my passions.

Ashton is currently a junior at Tyrone Area High School. This is his first year in Eagle Eye. In his free time, he likes to hang out with his friends and family. After high school, he plans on attending college and continuing his athletic career. Ashton is a three-sport athlete who competes in football, basketball, and baseball. This year, he plans on writing meaningful stories on sports in the Eagle Eye with his friends. One of Ashton's dreams in life is to play college football at the Division 1 level.  A fun fact about Ashton is he's easy to talk to and get along with.
