Athlete of the Week: Hunter Walk

Name: Hunter Walk

Sport: Wrestling

Grade: 10

Accomplishments:

Walk was the final match in a dual against Bellwood-Antis and secured the dual victory for us with a pin. The talented sophomore is currently 22-8 and is closing in on his 50th win. He recently took 5th at a tournament of 32 wrestlers. The tournament was a two-day event and is regarded as one of the toughest in the state.

“Hunter continues to work hard and grow as both a wrestler and a young man. He’s an excellent leader and is someone that the team looks to as an example of what they should be doing. He has a long successful career ahead of him if he continues with his work ethic.”


Eagle Eye: How did you first get involved in this sport?

Hunter Walk: “I started in 1st grade when my dad signed me up”

HW: “Golf, Spikeball, four square, Handball”

HW: “Penn State”

HW: “Blaine Hoover”

HW: “Pizza”

EE: What is your favorite part of the sport you play?

HW: “Competing individually and being part of a team at the same time”

HW: “Going to IUP last year for regionals”

HW: “To work and get better every day”

HW: “Practice makes perfect”
