Athlete of the Week: Gayge Miller

Name: Gayge Miller

Sport: Baseball

Grade: 11

Accomplishments: In the Golden Eagles season opener, Miller hit a two-run home run to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead in the 2nd inning against Juniata Valley, which led to a 14-2 win. He also made a spectacular catch in left field that resulted in him running into the fence but he was still able to make the play. Gayge intends to continue to give the Eagles a spark throughout the season. Congratulations!


EE: How did you first get involved in this sport?

GM: When I was younger my mom signed me up for tee-ball.

EE: What other sports do you play?

GM: Football

EE: Favorite professional sports team?

GM: Eagles

EE: Favorite professional athlete?

GM: Jalen Hurts

EE: Who is your hero? Why?

GM: My mom because she’s the hardest worker I know. She’s always there for me and she pushes me to be the best version of myself.

EE: Favorite band/musician?

GM: Travis Scott

EE: Favorite movie?

GM: Southpaw

GM: Chipotle Burrito

EE: What advice can you give to younger athletes?

GM: Wait for your chance and give it 100%.

GM: Attend college to be a PA or a PT.

Ashton is currently a junior at Tyrone Area High School. This is his first year in Eagle Eye. In his free time, he likes to hang out with his friends and family. After high school, he plans on attending college and continuing his athletic career. Ashton is a three-sport athlete who competes in football, basketball, and baseball. This year, he plans on writing meaningful stories on sports in the Eagle Eye with his friends. One of Ashton's dreams in life is to play college football at the Division 1 level.  A fun fact about Ashton is he's easy to talk to and get along with.
