Accomplishments: Emma had a great week, placing first in both her individual events at the first meet of her high school swimming career.  

Head Coach Tom Getz:  “Emma has worked hard all year and in the offseason.  She puts the time in the pool and in the gym, getting stronger.  Although she is a freshman, she is a very experienced swimmer with many meets under her belt.  I look for her to continue to find her way this year, figure out some of her best events, and have a very successful season.”

Eagle Eye: How did you first get involved in this sport?

Emma Bonsell: I started swimming when I was 8, because I wanted to be like my brother.

EB: Softball

EB: Sam Landry

EE: Who is your hero? Why?

EB: I look up to my brother Lucas because he works hard, always supports me, and never lets me give up.

EB: The Weeknd

EB: Top Gun: Maverick

EE: Favorite food?

EB: Chicken Alfredo

EE: What advice can you give to younger athletes?

EB: Be a leader and work hard even if no one else does.

EE: What are your future goals?

EB: I want to break the 100 breaststroke school record.
