Eagle Eye: Are you surprised by your 5-0 start?

Luke Rhoades: It is always nice to have a solid start to the season.

EE: What do need to do to keep the winning streak going?

LR:It’s not necessarily about a winning streak that we have to keep going.  Our main goal is to keep taking steps forward each game.  We have to get better and sometimes you definitely can get better with a loss just like you can stay the same or take steps back even with a win.

EE: What are some thoughts on the Mountain League this season? Who will be the teams to beat?

LR: The Mountain League is very balanced this year.  Each league game will be a definite challenge.

EE: Who will be your toughest opponents in the upcoming holiday tournament?

LR: All the teams in the holiday tournament are very tough.  We open with Tussey who is undefeated.

EE: What areas will the team need to work on most as the season progresses?

LR: We need to become more consistent scorers.

EE: What about the JV and JH team? What kind of season should we expect to see from the younger teams?

LR: Both our JV and junior high teams are off to a solid start.  We have put a lot of time throughout the off-season with girls all the way down to kindergarten in order to try to maintain a competitive program.

EE: What are your thoughts on the win against Clearfield?

LR: I believe this was the first game that we did not give maximum effort for 32 minutes and that worries me going into the tournament.

EE: Who are your assistants this year? What role do they play on your staff?

LR: Steve Ramsey is the varsity assistant and Kristen Baker is the JV coach.

EE: What are your thoughts on senior Kasey Engle’s decision to play at Shippensburg?

LR: I think her full scholarship to play at the next level is a tribute to a lot of time and hard work she has put in over the last four years.

EE: What is your favorite basketball movie and why?

LR: Hoosiers – I love the idea of a small school in a small close knit community going all the way and winning a state championship and the idea that the coach stuck by his beliefs of hard work and commitment in order to achieve it.
