Eagle Eye: What does the team most need to improve on to get into the win column this week?

Coach Wilson: Offensively, the blocking (Including everyone – Line, WRs, RBs on Pass Blocking) and running through the open holes to chip away and move the chains. Defensively, eliminating the big plays by either missed tackles or blown coverages. We need to be in correct technique stances pre-snap and we need to drive our feet through tackles.

EE: How do you think the 0-3 start has affected the team?

CW: The biggest affect comes from the outside negativity to the players. I think over those 3 weeks we’ve made big strides and are competing against some very tough teams. We need to stay focused and block out the negativity and not let it affect us. Continue to have good practices, continue to get better each week and get things turned around whether the community is behind us or not.

EEWhat is the offensive game plan vs. P-O this week?

CW: Continue to improve each week. We must establish a running game and keep a balanced attack.

EE: What will the defense need to do to stop P-O’s offense?

CW: Eliminate the big plays especially in the passing game. We must tackle better and force teams to drive the ball on us.

EE: What individual performances have stood out to you over the past three weeks?

CW: Isaac Jackson on both the Offense and Defensive lines has been outstanding. Braeden Nevling-Ray has an engine that never stops. Parker Mitchell has made some great catches the last 2 weeks. The Defensive Line and Linebackers have been playing really well on the inside.

EEWhat are your thoughts on the Mountain League Conference this year?

CW: The Mountain League Conference is tough. Teams that are usually near the bottom have improved over the last 5 years and have very competitive teams. I think overall the league is a lot more balanced from top to bottom. Add in one of the hardest out of conference schedules we’ve ever had, makes things very tough.

EE: What is your favorite Pizza place in Tyrone?

CW: Tough one. Mac’s GridIron Pizza is definitely a favorite of mine and growing up in Grazierville, I can’t pass up on Jeano’s.
