Ask the Coach with Head Coach Jason Wilson

Each week of the football season, Head Coach Jason Wilson sits down with the Eagle Eye for an exclusive interview.

Ask the Coach with Head Coach Jason Wilson

EE: How do you think your team performed against Chestnut Ridge?

JW: I thought we came out and played really well. We really moved the ball on offense and everyone did their job. On defense we attacked up front, pursued to the ball, and gang tackled. Overall, we played a great game.

EE: How do you think your team will play on the big stage?

JW: I think we will play well. Last week we treated that game like a first round playoff game. Chestnut Ridge was one of the top teams in District 5. We have to play the same way this week.

EE: What is the message to your team going into playoffs?

JW:  We need to take it one game at a time, and not overlook any team we face. Every week from here on out is going to be tough.

EE: Does your team still think about the Clearfield loss in week 7?

JW: We keep in mind of what happened that game and reflect on it. We have moved on from it.

EE: What are Forest Hills offensive and defensive strengths?

JW: On offense they have a really good running back. Also, they have a good quarterback/wide receiver that we need to contain and tackle. On defense, they stack the box and attack you. Their linebackers are really aggressive.  Their line will get up field and create pressure.

EE: What will it be like facing a legendary coach, Don Bailey?

JW: The first week of the season we faced a great coach, John Hayes from Bellwood. Coaching wise, we just have to focus on the game, and not worry about who’s on the other side coaching.

EE: Will having home field advantage be a factor on Friday?

JW: I hope so. Hopefully we will fill the stadium up, and our fans will be loud. We could use the advantage of the 12th man.

EE: Around this time of the season, do you think your team is starting to play like a district championship team?

JW: We have to keep getting better each week. Every team from here on out will be better and better every week. I think we’re peaking into where we need to be in the playoffs. We just have to keep playing like we played last week, and carry that on each game.
