Athlete of the Week: Kaitlyn Rockwell

Name: Kaitlyn Rockwell

Sport: Softball

Grade: 9

Accomplishments: Kaitlyn earned her first varsity win as Tyrone won at Bald Eagle Area, 8-7, in the season opener. Rockwell finished with five strikeouts and two walks. She hopes to continue her success and help lead the Lady Eagles to a great season. Congratulations Kaitlyn!


EE: How did you first get involved in this sport?

KR: I got involved with softball from my older sister.

EE: What other sports do you play?

KR: I play volleyball.

EE: Favorite professional sports team?

KR: Oklahoma Softball Team.

EE: Favorite professional athlete?

KR: Jordy Bahl

EE: Who is your hero? Why?

KR: My dad because he helps me through a lot of things.

KR: Don’t stop chasing your dreams. Don’t let anyone tell you your not good enough.

KR: I want to attend college and become a game warden.

Ashton is currently a junior at Tyrone Area High School. This is his first year in Eagle Eye. In his free time, he likes to hang out with his friends and family. After high school, he plans on attending college and continuing his athletic career. Ashton is a three-sport athlete who competes in football, basketball, and baseball. This year, he plans on writing meaningful stories on sports in the Eagle Eye with his friends. One of Ashton's dreams in life is to play college football at the Division 1 level.  A fun fact about Ashton is he's easy to talk to and get along with.
