The original Broadway production of Guys and Dolls opened in 1950 and ran for nearly 1,200 performances.  It received nearly unanimous positive reviews from critics and won a TONY Award for Best Musical.

Set in Damon Runyon’s 1920s New York City, Guys And Dolls is a classic romantic comedy. The plot centers around gambler Nathan Detroit, played by junior Adam Zook.  Detriot is scheming to set up the biggest craps game in town while staying one step ahead of the police. Meanwhile, his girlfriend, nightclub performer Adelaide, played by sophomore Haley Butina, laments that they’ve been engaged for 14 years with no wedding date in sight.  Nathan bets high rolling gambler Sky Masterson, played by junior Sean McGovern, that he can’t make the next girl he sees fall in love with him.  The girl is the straight-laced Miss Sarah Brown of the Save-a-Soul Mission, played by senior Hope Wilson.

These leads will be supported by a very talented staff, including TAHS teachers Cummins McNitt and Michael Funicelli, and a live pit ensemble.
